I don't think that the government should be able to spy on the citizens of the United States. The government has no right or reason to be looking at people's personal life and everything that they are doing. I get why the government is wanting to watch what the people are doing because the government is making sure that there are no terrorist in the United States. It makes a lot of sense because they don’t want another terrorist attack like 2001. It would be horrifying for everyone in the United States if that were to happen again.
Ever since the terrorist attack everyone has been terrified of the alqaedas clan of people. The security guards are on high alert when they see and al qaedans and not all of them are bad people but us Americans don’t think that way ever since the 911 attack. Back to the government watching people is terrifying to some and not so terrifying to others.

The time period for these stories is about 1600. There is a lot happening in the world, people are settling on different land. The people that are settling are the Quakers. They decided to come over from Brittan and settle on the puritans land. The puritans uphold different values like how to hunt different animals and what to do with them when they are killed. The ideas that were introduced are how the puritans showed the Quakers how to hunt all different animals. The Quakers and puritans are different because the Quakers are not accustomed with having to hunt for their food and are not used to being in the trees to sleep.
The General History of Virginia is about how a colony was molded after a military expedition. They even had people that had to serve on ships fighting to keep the town of Jamestown. They would try and sell what little bread that they did get to try and get money so they could go and spend it in the tavern. The presidents of the town and captain of the army not long after also have abandoned the country.
When the pilgrims had landed on U.S. soil the natives had 100 years of contact with the European explorers. The Pilgrims had met a native that became good friends and became their interpreter; Squanto learned how to speak English when he was kidnapped in 1605 by an English expedition. The natives also attacked the Pilgrims shortly after they had arrived. The Nauset Indians had survived years of skirmishes with English explorers.
A sinner in the Hands of an Angry God was a sermon that was delivered by Jonathan Edwards In 1741 to the congregation in Enfield, Connecticut. He read the sermon like he always did with few gestures or movements. The sermon meant to some people that they were not loved by god as they thought they were. God was mad at all the miserable creatures that are now tormented in Hell, they feel his wrath of fierceness there.
The stories set a good setting for the Salem Witch Trials. I don’t know much about the Salem Witch Trials but I have a feeling that it has to go with the other stories that we just got done reading. In the Crucible there will be fighting and it will be in the older days like a Spartacus scene. This author is different because he is from the present time and likes how the present day can be. McCarthyism is when people make a vociferous campaign against alleged communists in the U.S. Government. I think that it is a good thing that we are reading this type of thing to get a feeling for what they went through back in the day.
